I help people with low back pain (with or without leg pain) understand and manage their pain

No wonder we develop various aches and pains in our feet!

A foot orthotic is a prescribed medical appliance, custom-made, that fits into a person’s footwear to support, align, prevent, and/or accommodate foot abnormalities and improve how the foot functions.2

The purpose of a foot orthotic is to focus the hind foot, midfoot and forefoot, as well as the lower extremities, in a desirable manner to relieve and reduce foot pain.2 Similar to how glasses work for the eyes, orthotics work for the feet!

When used in conjunction with appropriate footwear, custom orthotics can be effective in helping to treat a number of foot and lower limb problems including, but not limited to:2

  • Over/under pronation
  • Foot pain
  • Achilles tendinopathy
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Sports injuries
  • Metatarsalgia
  • Lower limb pain
  • Back pain!

It is important to note that while low back pain is not normally caused solely from our feet, many people are pleasantly surprised when they see an improvement in their low back pain with the use of proper footwear and custom-made orthotics when combined with other treatment options, such as chiropractic care!2

Dr. Rebecca works closely with a pedorthist at the orthotic laboratory she orders all custom orthotics to ensure that you get the best custom care possible!
