Spinal Manipulation Therapy

Have you ever wondering if Spinal Manipulation Therapy (aka Spinal Adjustments) are safe and effective for the management of MSK conditions? The Ontario Chiropractic Association (OCA) and University of Guelph present ā€œSpinal Manipulation Therapy: A Treatment for Musculoskeletal Pain,ā€ an animated video on the science, value, and benefits of chiropractic care. This video provides a comprehensive, easy-to-understand, and accessible way to learn about the evidence-based benefits of chiropractic care. It is narrated by Dr. John Srbely, PhD, DC.

Compassionate Care Program

Dr. Rebecca offers a Compassionate Care Program to assist individuals with MSK conditions who would benefit from chiropractic care but cannot afford it due to financial constraints. Eligibility for the Compassionate Care Program is based on the following criteria:

  • The patient meets Canada’s official definition of poverty: ā€œPoverty is the condition of a person who is deprived of the resources, means, choices, and power necessary to acquire and maintain a basic level of living standardsā€
  • The patient either (i) earns less than $57,909 annually (family of four) OR (ii) less than $28,954 annually (single individual) *Income thresholds are based on the poverty line for Calgary, Alberta

MDs referring patients to the Compassionate Care Program must complete and fax the Chiropractic Referral Form, confirming the patient meets program criteria. Referred patients will be waitlisted and contacted when a space becomes available. Each referral covers one MSK complaint, with only one active case per practitioner at a time. Up to 12 visits, including the initial assessment, are provided per referral under the Compassionate Care Program fee schedule, which is 75% of the posted Chiropractic fee schedule. A new referral is required for additional care or a different MSK complaint.
